The SC Interagency Council on Homelessness, with the SC Department of Social Services and agencies statewide, conducted South Carolina's first statewide count of youth experiencing homelessness through the SC Young Voices Matter Campaign. Campaign Chairman Curtis Joe, CEO of Sea Haven for Youth, described it as one of the most coordinated statewide efforts of its kind, engaging more than 350 youth across 40-plus outreach events in all four regions, with additional data drawn from the SC Department of Education's McKinney-Vento Program.
